Past Present & Future. The Fool emerges for different times. From Fashion to Film.
Myrna & Ruti continued creating at various times over the years. They found that they could create in other ways. They went from fashion to film. In 2010 Myrna was on a full time MA course in digital film and animation. For her final project Ruti having done similar courses was able to collaborate on The Busy Man a stop frame animation. They made use of an ancient story to tell a story. The Greek legend of Sisyphus became The Busy Man. Sisyphus was punished by the gods to never be able to complete a task. He had to roll a boulder up a hill to get it over the top and found that it always rolled back again never getting to the top.
In 2025 in their 8th decade they amazingly came together once again. Inspired by the 4000 year old story that predates the bible The Epic of Gilgamesh they made 2 animation films reflecting on universal themes. "Intent not action, Revenge, Action/ Reaction, Scapegoating, Blame, Loss and Transformation". Their collaboration demonstrates how creativity, innovation can come together to produce inspiring new work at any age a remarkable fusion of art, storytelling, music and AI. Having made the film they realised they needed words and music. This is when they experimented with ChatGPT to write the lyrics from their prompts / keywords to convey the story. Then they used OpenMusic AI for the song.
Gilgamesh, Ishtar, Enkidu, Siduri
The red colour in the first painting conveys the emotion of Ishtar which led her to seek revenge.
“I photographed my 3 mixed media paintings. Then in Adobe Elements I isolated and,made layers of each character in the story. Then in Apple Motion I created the animations with Ruti, through using the camera. I imported it all to Final Cut Pro and Ruti and I created the films” Myrna
